It is an honour and privilege to welcome you all to this edition of the IACTS MID-TERM CME to be held on 28^th and 29^th August 2026 at the Christian Medical College premises at Vellore. This CME is designed keeping in focus young Heart Surgeons and postgraduates who are in their formative years of decision making in Cardiac surgery. Our shared commitment to foster best clinical practice by inculcating and sharing ideas relating to evidence based research, past and present innovations and the future of Cardiac surgery will justify the theme Repair, Restore, Rebuild. During these two days delegates will be engaged in scientific sessions, panel discussions, poster presentations and a master class in case presentation, all conducted by renowned faculty from India and abroad.

The Christian medical college Vellore is one of the embryonal centres of Open heart surgery in our country credited with several firsts in open and closed heart procedures. It is located 130 kilometres south of Chennai. It is well connected by rail(Katpadi) and the nearest airport being Chennai. The city of Vellore has historical importance as being the centre of the Vellore mutiny in 1806 predating the sepoy mutiny of 1857. It is also endowed with a rich heritage of intermingling of Vijayanagara, Chola, Maratha and Pandya cultures from the times of yore. It is located 100 kms from the temple town of Tirupati. Delegates will have the the opportunity to visit historical landmarks like the Vellore fort, St John’s Church, Ancient fort temple, Archeological museum, Golden temple and others.
